Job Description:

We are looking for a data science intern to strengthen the Process Science Modeling and Data team of the Advanced Manufacturing organization of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT). Our organization supports all sites, platforms and modalities - all over the globe. Our mission is to make Johnson & Johnson's manufacturing processes faster and more cost-efficient while improving product quality! 

We are eager to bring on board a talented and motivated Master's student (or recent Master's graduate, within 12 months) to our team for 6 months. The role is to support modeling activities in the Manufacturing Science and Technology department leveraging data science in drug manufacturing. In this role, you will perform data analysis and process modeling in pharmaceutical manufacturing as part of a project supporting a scientist. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to gather and curate large datasets from various sources related to drug manufacturing processes. 
  • Transform and refine data through preprocessing and cleaning techniques, ensuring accuracy and reliability. 
  • Perform in-depth data exploration of datasets to uncover novel patterns and insights that drive innovation. 
  • Utilize analytical techniques such as regression, statistics and advanced modeling to derive meaningful insights and support robust data analysis. 
  • Present key findings and insights at internal meetings, translating complex data into actionable strategies for enhancing production efficiency and improving operations. 

Requirements:  

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's program in Engineering or other related field.  

  • Experience with python-based data analytics 

  • Background in chemical engineering/pharmaceutical manufacturing. 

  • Motivated, results-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset 

  • Good problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
