Role overview
The Director of Finance will oversee all core financial functions including accounting, reporting, tax, billing, audit, and global compliance. Reporting to CFO, You’ll be instrumental in building scalable processes and systems to support our company’s next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Leadership
- Lead all day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, tax, billing, financial reporting, and compliance
- Establish and continuously improve scalable systems and internal controls across the organization
- Partner with the executive team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Accounting, Compliance & Controller Oversight
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes in compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial statements
- Implement and enforce financial policies and accounting standards across all entities
- Financial Audit
- Lead the annual external audit process
- Proactively manage audit readiness throughout the year and ensure a clean audit opinion
- Tax
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements in the U.S.
- Manage global tax exposure including VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and international filings in coordination with tax advisors
- Track and manage U.S. sales tax and SaaS-specific tax issues
- Billing & Revenue Recognition
- Oversee billing, invoicing, and collections
- Ensure revenue recognition policies align with ASC 606 standards
- Oversee quote-to-cash processes
- International Finance
- Manage financial operations for international entities, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and statutory compliance
- Support global expansion by setting up financial infrastructure in new markets and managing international accounting vendors
- Team Leadership & Systems
- Mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA, advanced finance degree, and/or CPA a plus
- 10+ years of finance experience, Big 4 public accounting a plus
- Deep experience with U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606)]
- Experience managing audits, including full-cycle external audit processes
- SaaS or technology industry experience with knowledge of key SaaS metrics
- Familiarity with international operations, foreign entity accounting, and cross-border tax issues
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Rillet) and billing platforms
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and geographies
